I was involved when it was still called Olympics of the Mind. (It had this name for years, not merely the first competition as the article suggests).Cospelero (talk) 09:40, 9 November 2021 (UTC) I heard that the International Olympic Committee sued for trademark infringement, and that's why they had to change the name. Are there sources for this information. Can it be added to the history.[reply]

I would love to see someone fill this is. This org is old and unique and i am sure has so much lore that could be added 2601:380:8082:E350:F69:21C8:60C6:744E (talk) 17:00, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a reference in this revision (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Odyssey_of_the_Mind&oldid=1281019898). OM announced the change in their 1984 summer newsletter (https://odysseyofthemind.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/84_Summer.pdf) Dmpilla (talk) 20:26, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The only photo presently in the article shows a couple of mascots, one of which is identified as "SNYPS, the New York state mascot". Where is SNYPS listed as a mascot for the state of New York? Where is SNYPS listed as a mascot for any state whatsoever? Thank you. 173.171.77.226 (talk) 00:44, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SNYPS is referenced as the mascot for NY in the Spring 2005 Odyssey of the Mind newsletter [1]
On the last page, it reads:

Also on-hand for the celebration were the OotM mascot, OMER, and SNYPS, the NY mascot. SNYPS is an acronym for “Super New York Problem Solvers.”
